710 Day is a cannabis holiday that is celebrated on July 10th each year. Also known as “Oil Day” or “Dab Day,” this festive day highlights the wide selection of cannabis concentrates available, specifically oils and dabs. This holiday is celebrated on July 10th because when flipped upside down and backward, the number 710 represents the word “OIL.”
At Canna Culture, you can expect to find only the highest quality selection of concentrates available. We are the most trusted dispensary in the Bay Area, helping each client #JoinTheCulture. What is Cannabis Oil?
Cannabis oil is a thick liquid containing concentrated cannabinoids, typically infused into a carrier oil. It is often consumed through edibles, vape cartridges, or tinctures and usually offers a lower potency than dabs. Cannabis is often infused into a carrier oil, such as medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. MCT oils are quickly metabolized in the body and are naturally found in coconut and palm kernel oils. Cannabis oils are recommended for clients who prefer not to smoke.
THC Tincture
THC tinctures are small bottles of infused oils, often hemp seed or MCT oils. THC tinctures can easily be administered under the tongue, swallowed, or added to different foods or drinks. Many clients describe the texture as thin and oily, and it may be flavored or unflavored. Tinctures are easy to dose and offer lasting benefits, but it may take longer to feel the effects.
A few of our favorite tinctures include Purple Grape Tincture and 1:1 Releaf THCa Tincture.
Vape Oil
Vape oil is a type of THC oil that is inhaled through a vape pen or battery. This form of oil often appears amber or golden and is sold in a glass cartridge. (1) Vape oil is known to be thick and has an immediate onset time, allowing clients to feel the effects immediately after consumption. Vape oil has a shorter duration of effects compared to other forms of THC, but is highly praised for its lack of fragrance and discreet nature. Some of our popular cartridges include the Granddaddy Purple Cartridge and Blue Dream Live Resin Cartridge.
Distillate Oil
Distillate oil is a pale and glossy oil known for its high cannabinoid content. THC distillate is unique because all the compounds are removed during processing, leaving only a singular specific cannabinoid. Distillate oil can be consumed through vaping, edibles, or capsules. Distillate oil is known for its potency and consistency across products, but the duration of effects can vary depending on the ingestion method.
What are Cannabis Dabs?
Cannabis dabs are solid to semi-solid forms of concentrate. Cannabis dabs are consumed using a dab rig or e-rig, two pieces of equipment that heat the concentrate until it has reached vapor form, where it can then be inhaled. (2) Cannabis dabs are known to be extremely potent and fast-acting. Most dab consumers are those with more cannabis experience. There are several different types of dabs, such as shatter, wax, crumble, sauce, and diamonds.
Shatter
Shatter is a glass-like form of concentrate that looks like an amber or golden sheet. When being produced, shatter is not agitated. It retains its molecular structure, resulting in its brittle texture and candy-like appearance. Shatter is best consumed at a temperature higher than flower combustion but lower than the temperatures of a THC vape. Shatter is easy to dose and can even be broken and sprinkled over flower for more enhanced effects.
If you are new to shatter, we recommend either Watermelon Dream Bho Shatter or Kandi Cream Bho Shatter.
Badder
Badder is similar to wax, but is known to be fluffier, lighter, and softer. Many clients compare badder’s consistency to cake frosting. It is known for its higher terpene retention. During the manufacturing process, the concentrate is whipped aggressively to achieve its airy texture. This means that it not only has a smoother, more refined taste but also contains a higher concentration of THC.
If you are ready for a new experience, we suggest Yuzu Badder or Garlic Jungle Cake Live Resin Badder.
Sauce
Sauce is a type of cannabis extract that has a texture similar to marmalade or jam. Sauce is a terpene-rich concentrate that contains tiny THCa crystals. Sauce is known for its complex flavor profile and for being terpene-heavy. Sauce concentrates are recommended for more experienced clients, as they are often higher in potency compared to other products.
If you are ready to get lost in the sauce, we recommend Wubba Sorbet Live Sauce or Jack Wreck Diamond Sauce.
Diamond
THCa diamonds are tiny crystalline rocks composed of pure THCa. THCa is the non-psychoactive form of THC and must be heated up or decarboxylated before its effects may be felt. THCa diamonds are extracted from the live resin sauce curing process. As the sauce cures, it slowly separates into a layer of sauce and a layer of diamond. To consume this form, a dab rig or e-rig should be used to ensure the product is adequately heated and decarboxylated. While this form of THC is not known for being flavorful, it offers a more intense experience for consumers. One of our favorite hidden gems is Lemon Gas Diamonds.
Live Resin
Live resin is a form of cannabis concentrate that uses frozen, but fresh, flowers rather than dried cannabis. This allows the terpenes to be preserved during the manufacturing process and allows the final product to preserve the full flavor of the flower itself. This results in a stronger fragrance and taste, and fast-acting benefits. The texture of live resin is sticky and may also be described as wet, and it possesses a golden and glossy appearance. Live resin is ideal for cannabis enthusiasts who want the full flavor profile of the plant. We recommend starting with Kakigori Live Resin or Sour Tangie Live Resin for resin newcomers.
Wax
Wax looks like a yellow or golden lump similar to beeswax. Wax is a common cannabis product that is thick, making it easy to stick to different dab tools. Wax is consumed by inhalation and often contains higher amounts of THC compared to shatter.
Crumble
Crumble is a form of cannabis that is known for its crumbly, dry texture. This concentrate is very light and porous and breaks apart easily. When being made, crumble is heated at lower temperatures to remove excess moisture from the product. Because of its texture, crumble is an easy and convenient form of dab to sprinkle into a bowl or combine with flower.
