An edible is any food, beverage, or other consumable item that has been infused with cannabis or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). With edibles, clients can feel the recreational and medicinal effects of the infused cannabis, without the smoke.
About 19% of Americans total, or around 52.5 million people, used cannabis in 2021. (1) More than 40% of North American nonmedical cannabis users consume edibles, making it one of the more popular methods of consumption. (2)

Benefits of Edible Cannabis
There are many benefits to consuming edible cannabis, both medicinally and recreationally. Edible cannabis is one of the easiest ways to consume cannabis, coming pre-dosed to ensure clients understand how much they are consuming. Edibles do not require patients to inhale anything, making it a great option for individuals who may not be able to smoke but want to feel the calming effects.
Clients who suffer from pain or discomfort due to migraines or arthritis may find relief from the effects of consuming THC-infused beverages or foods. The lasting effects of the products may also be suitable for patients suffering from chronic pain. Individuals suffering from insomnia might find that THC-infused edibles can help them relax, allowing them to fall into a deeper, more satisfying sleep. The wellness effects of edible cannabis can also help patients increase their appetite and reduce vomiting or nausea. This can be helpful for patients who may be suffering from medical conditions that suppress hunger or patients currently undergoing chemotherapy. (2)
Recreational benefits of consuming cannabis include an elevated mood and a heightened sense of euphoria, and can even stimulate creativity. Many edibles use full-spectrum cannabis, meaning the THC contains a variety of different terpenes and cannabinoids. The terpenes and cannabinoids all combine effects to bring more substantial results to each client.

Cannabis Infused Beverages
Cannabis drinks are infused beverages that help deliver calming effects to clients. These drinks use a process called nanoemulsification to help break down cannabinoids. This allows them to bypass the digestive tract and absorb directly through the lining of the stomach. This means that clients can feel the relaxing effects quicker, starting in just 15-30 minutes. These effects can be felt faster than traditional edibles, but have shorter lasting effects. Compared to traditional edibles, clients may find the effects of drinks easier to control as drinks often contain a lower amount of THC infused in each drink. Drinks are often served with 5-10mg per serving and can be ideal for clients in social situations who may not want to drink alcohol.
Cannabis Infused Seltzers
Infused seltzers are sparkling water beverages that are infused with THC to help clients feel more relaxed and calm. Seltzers are created using the nanoemulsification process to help the cannabinoids absorb faster in the body. Infused seltzers are perfect for health-conscious individuals or clients who want a low-calorie or sugar option. These drinks are perfect for social settings, offering a substitution for clients not interested in alcohol. At Canna Culture, we offer a unique variety of THC-infused seltzers, perfect for those wanting to refresh and hydrate.

Cannabis Infused Teas
Cannabis tea is an infused beverage designed to help clients unwind and destress. Infused tea can either be made by steeping cannabis flower, and leaves in hot water or by using nanoemulsification techniques with tea blends. Many infused teas can take anywhere between 30-90 minutes to take effect, taking a similar amount of time compared to traditional edibles. (3) Clients that choose nanoemulsified teas will be able to feel the relaxing benefits of the tea quicker, often taking effect anywhere between 15-30 minutes.

Cannabis Infused Soda
Cannabis-infused sodas are sugary, carbonated drinks that are infused with THC and cannabinoids to create a sweet and refreshing experience for each client. The infused products are typically offered in classic soda flavors, but can also be found in more fun, flavorful variations. Choosing to consume an infused soda can be a great substitute at parties and can be an easy way for clients to ease into trying their first cannabis drink.

Cannabis Capsules and Tabs
Cannabis capsules and tabs are a convenient and discreet way to consume cannabis and are consumed in a way that is similar to some supplements. Infused capsules and tabs often contain extracted cannabis oils or decarboxylated cannabis. Decarboxylated cannabis is heated to activate the cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant and flower. Capsules are swallowed by the client and the cannabinoids are absorbed through the intestine after the capsule dissolves. The effects of the THC can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours before the effects can be felt. This timing can be affected by each client’s metabolism. The effects of capsules and tabs can be felt for a more extended period, making capsules ideal for clients seeking sustained relief from symptoms, or deeper sleep at night.
For patients interested in capsules, we recommend these options from our current menu:

Infused Snacks
Traditional edible snacks are usually created by infusing either sugars or fats with THC before combining them with other ingredients. Edibles can either be savory or sweet and often come in the form of candies or baked goods. Commonly infused ingredients in recipes include olive oil, coconut oil, butter, sugar, and even honey. Infused snacks are ideal for clients interested in the uplifting benefits of THC, but are not interested or able to smoke. Savory THC snacks are also ideal for clients who may not be as interested in sugary or sweet items and want an alternative they can still enjoy.
